The good news is not a private transaction but a public announcement, and it reaches into the whole of the public square. Because Christ alone is Lord, no nation, party, or ideology gets the final word, and the church lives as an alternative to a public life bent by fear and falsehood, split by contempt, and driven by the lust for domination. To be faithful witnesses, we name, unmask, and engage the powers, meeting them not with domination but with the cruciform way of Jesus, where justice becomes love made public. Personal transformation becomes social transformation, and each keeps deepening the other, until the God of peace crushes Satan under our feet and makes all things new.
